1 CEU for NJ Chiropractors and Chiropractors in States that Accept PACE
Course Description:
Recent studies show that over 80% of survivors sought medical care while being trafficked, but they were not identified. Physicians, Nurses, EMT’s, Social Workers, Dentists – all healthcare professionals – are in a great position to identify victims of violence if they have the proper training and resources.
This NJ Coalition Against Human Trafficking program will give some ideas about recognition by discussing some patient red flags, and how to employ a trauma informed response in the healthcare setting. It will provide an overview of what human trafficking is and isn’t, examples of how/where it occurs, the grooming process, and will explore online exploitation and sextortion.
