3 CEUs for Massage Therapists and Chiropractors *
This is an in-person hands-on class.
This comprehensive 3-hour continuing education course is designed for licensed massage therapists and chiropractors seeking training in temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction and intraoral buccal massage techniques. Participants will gain an understanding of TMJ anatomy, common causes of jaw pain and dysfunction, and the relationship between stress, posture, muscular imbalance, and facial tension.
Through lecture, demonstration, and supervised hands-on practice, practitioners will learn safe and effective external TMJ massage techniques and intraoral buccal massage methods to address tension in the muscles of mastication, improve jaw mobility, decrease pain, and support overall facial relaxation. Emphasis will be placed on contraindications, sanitation procedures, client communication, draping, informed consent, and scope of practice.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to confidently integrate TMJ and buccal massage techniques into treatment sessions to support those experiencing jaw tension, headaches, clenching, grinding, stress-related facial tightness, and postural dysfunction.
